one of the few examples of pop-architecture: the “bierpinsel” (beer brush) in berlin.

it was built between 1972 and 1976 and opened as a restaurant. later it was turned into a nightclub. since it´s located in a not-so-fashionable-part of berlin the business was never very successful. it is closed since 2006 and awaits much needed refurbishment.

the colourful painting is part of an art project. in it´s original state the tower was red. alledgedly new plans are to paint it gold.
